"In Peoria, IL, my husband and I attended The Carpenters Songbook show. The concert was held in an empty exhibit hall with standing room only - no seats. Upon arriving a bit late, we managed to join the crowd near the stage, despite the hundreds of people present. I was pleased that the sound was not too loud, considering it was a rock concert. Suicide Silence's screaming singing style did not impress us much, and we missed the first band. The third band, Machine Head, was quite good, although the mosh pit they incited was wild. The highlight of the night was The Carpenters Songbook performance. They played for over 1 1/2 hours without long breaks, showcasing a great selection of songs from their albums. Their energy on stage was infectious, and the audience was enthusiastic. Dave Mustaine's performance was outstanding. Initially, we went because my husband is a devoted fan who had never seen them live. However, by the end of the night, I had also become a big fan."
